JOB TITLE : KENNEL ATTENDANT 

Job Summary: We are seeking a responsible and compassionate Kennel Attendant who values a long term commitment to their profession to join our team. The Kennel Attendant's job will entail providing high-quality daily care and the basic needs of the animal guests, making sure they’re safe, healthy, and comfortable at all times.

The ideal candidate will have a love for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Feed and water animals according to their individual needs

• Clean, disinfect, and maintain living areas, playrooms, equipment, feeders and toys as often as necessary to ensure no areas are soiled and odors are not apparent

• Provide exercise and play for animals

• Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to management

• Administer supplements, medications or treatments (as needed) as directed by management or veterinarian

• Grooming the animals as needed

• Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior

• Provides daily update to the pet owner

• Conduct detailed and accurate pre and post-physical assessments and reports with the Front Desk Officer

• Answer phones, emails and assist customers with inquiries and reservations

• Perform other duties as required to improve the functioning of the pet hotel

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Prior experience working with animals preferred

• 25 years old or above, male or female, possess a level of professional maturity that reflects our standards of care and service

• Ability to safely lift or handle dogs up to 50 pounds

• Must be trustworthy, obedient, patient, and respectful

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Flexibility to work including weekends, nights and holidays as needed

• Knows how to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation

• Basic computer knowledge

• Observation: It's important for kennel attendants to have the ability to notice animal behaviour to ensure each pet is safe, healthy and happy.

• Organization: Organization skills help kennel attendants monitor and manage multiple pets at a time without compromising the quality of care, prioritizing tasks effectively and efficiently. 

• Commitment: Strong dedication to career enhancement and fulfilling the terms of the employment contract.

• Pro active attitude: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and dedication to enhance skills and knowledge in their field.

Salary: The salary for this position will be commensurate with type of employment, experience, work performance and attitude.
